Introduction
Welcome back to another post everyone.
Today's post is about the ability Wither. Wither is a very interesting ability that very few creatures have. Creatures with wither deal damage in the form of -1/-1 counters. Wither is similar to infect but doesn't give your opponent poison counters when they're dealt damage by the creature. However, wither and infect go hand in hand.
Wither hasn't been in a set since Eventide, which makes it an older ability in MTG's history. Many newer players do not know about the ability, and older players try to avoid it or exploit it depending on their play style. The first set that wither appeared in was the set Shadowmoor.
There are only 37 cards printed with wither out of those cards; 28% are black, 28% are red, 12% are green, 8% are black and green, 8% are red and green, 4% are black and red, 4% are blue and black, 4% are white and red, and 4% are artifacts.

Did you know?
Wither was actually considered to be put into the Amonkhet block but was rejected. I think it would've been so cool to see a return for this ability, but I understand why they didn't bring it back into the newer sets.
